Step 7
Here's the part where we put the white back in the picture just in a differnt layer. Make a new Raster layer (Layers > New Raster Layer) and use the settings shown. Although you can name the layer anything you want. For the sake of neatness name it something like "white" or "background"
Step 8
Now we send the new layer to the bottom by going to Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom. We also use the Paint Bucket tool to create the white background once again
Step 9
Create another layer and label it color. Select your airbrush tool and pick the color you want to use first. Move over to the area where you want to color start coloring by holding down either the left mouse button or the right mouse button.
Step 10
Now once your done coloring we can begin to shade.
Step 11
Begin to shade by creating another new layer, selecting darker colors, and airbrushing over your picture. A good trick I use to shade is select the color layer and use the magic wand to select the area you want to color. Go back to your shading area and shade with the airbrush. Click here for good colors to used to shade and color.
Note:
Some people though like to use the Retouch tool with Burn or Darken RGB to shade pictures. Others also like to just make a new layer with the Multiply selected in Blend mode and just color over the picture with the same colors used on the last layer. I think selecting darker colors though gives a better look. And it's more controled than the Multiply feature.
Step 12
Now's the part where I would normally go over my shading with the Retouch tool in Soften mode but this picture doesn't really need the soften effect. So we're finished.
